Harvested:
~ corn - 7 ears
~ cukes - 1 ct, 0.7 oz
~ green pepper (turning red) 1 ct
~ okra - 3.9 oz
~ tomatoes - 8 ct, 3 lb 5.6 oz
Preserved:
~ corn - 2 ears frozen
~ cucumbers - 7 pints bread & butter pickles canned. Used Ball Bread & Butter Pickle Mix. [NOTE - the back of the pack calls for 7 pounds of cucumbers, I had 3.5. I used half the mix but ran out of liquid before I ran out of cukes. Had to mix up the rest of it to finish out the cucumbers. ]
~ tomatoes - 5 pints spaghetti sauce canned (for pizza!) Used one of my garden green peppers in the recipe
Notes:
- Bought 360 lbs dolomitic limestone for the production garden today (9, 40 lb bags)
- Bought 50 lb bag of triple superphosphate (need 38 lbs). I looked at rock phosphate as an organic alternative, but the price to do the production garden would have been astronomical.
- Ordered a 50 lb of kelp meal from Gardens Alive!
