February To Do List

2/11 - Sow indoors:
  • broccoli
  • kale
  • lettuce
  • eggplant
  • thyme 
2/18 - Sow indoors
  • basil
  • chives
  • parsley (soak 1st)
  • summer savory
  • sweet marjoram
  • beet
  • peppers

Plant:
  • Asparagus - dormant crowns
  • Peas: Feb 1 - 15
  • Mustard: Feb 1 - Mar 15
  • Radish: Feb 15 - Mar 15
  • Spinach: Feb 15 - Mar 15
  • Turnips: Feb 20 - April 1

  3. HI again Leigh. Back again to check in. As spring approaches, I am always reminded to see what you are up to.

    Just wondering if you think the carrots that I planted in the fall will start to grow now? Lots still have the green leaves but did not grow much during the winter here in Indiana. I am new to homesteading and the green house winter. So last year and the winter has been an interesting view into the gardening life. All the best for your gardening year and thanks again for the great information.

  4. My carrots always seem to be slow growing too during cold weather, but spring should see some growth! My parsnips have been the same way. Still, I think it gives them a good head start to plant in fall. :)
