Looked, for awhile, like rain.

Dan cleared and tilled the sunflower beds at the bottom of the garden. The sunflowers did not do well. I planted black oil seeds from the feed store (bird seed). Perhaps they were hybrids but they were small with small heads and few seeds, most of which the birds got. Could have been our rainy, sunless summer too.

I cleaned out the deep litter in the chicken coop and we spread it out over the area Dan tilled.

Made a cole slaw with summer's last cabbage.
