Last year I dehydrated the rose hips whole. They're a little too big for that so this year I halved or quartered as needed.

  • the broody hen was off the nest after lunch. Actually she was standing over 3 eggs in another nest. In hers, were the 3 I'd given her and 6 more white ones. My suspicions about Mrs. Mean are correct. All 6 eggs passed the float test, but I'll give the 2 oldest ones to the dogs.

~ .25 lb muriate of potash per tree

Also planted about 5 or 6 more hardy hibiscus
