Day 2 of 365

I'm still trying to figure out the best way to approach this challenge. In the past I've just made lists I could bullet. Maybe a more narrative approach? What do my dear readers think?  I also know I'll miss some days, so how do I keep track? Not that it matters, but it would be nice to challenge myself from year to year to break my own record. Any ideas?

Today I defrosted Thanksgiving turkey to make filé gumbo. I made broth from the carcass last week. We'll eat some and I'll can the rest. I've started using our frozen eggs because the chickens are in moult. Also foraged acorns for the goats.

Weather mostly cloudy but not so cold.
Low: 46° F. High: 53° F.
