Snow! The day started cold and clear but the sky began to cloud over around lunchtime. About 2:30 in the afternoon, snow flakes where swirling around. It continued for awhile, lightly, with gusty winds and a dropping temperature. About an hour later, turned to rain.

Ground the ginger root I dried yesterday. Powdered beautifully in my electric coffee mill.

Made cracklin' cornbread for lunch. It was so good! Almost all the ingredients were homegrown: cracklings, corn for meal, eggs, buttermilk, fat. Ate it with our canned tomatoes and okra with leftover black turtle beans mixed in. A fine homestead meal.
